ARB Says SOX Applies Extraterritorially in Government Contractor Whistleblower Claim
Sehic Law, PLLC and the Parzivand Law Firm represented Gary Blanchard in this landmark decision from the Administrative Review Board for the U.S. Department of Labor. The client had worked on a base in Afghanistan and was allegedly terminated in retaliation for reporting fraudulent activities. The case was initially dismissed because the client was not employed in the United States. On appeal, the ARB held that Sarbanes-Oxley's retaliation provisions apply extraterritorially and remanded the case for further proceedings.
